Search for inner balance when there is pain and horror around

 

Art psychologists, whose main tool is art, have seen many times that the production of creativity in any form becomes a saving stick, a saving straw in the most difficult circumstances. So, experiments on the complete deprivation of people, when they were closed in a limited space and given the opportunity to take only one object, always indicated that if this is connected with creativity, then the chances of surviving difficult circumstances are much greater. And, by the way, in that experiment, the girl with pencils held out best. Therefore, I want the number of different forms of creativity to give us now the strength to experience a situation of prolonged traumatic stress.

So, I offer 10 methods to put yourself in order:
1. Music and singing – relieve bodily tension, the vibration of the voice, as it were, creates a balance from within;
2. Improvisation in dance is a great form to listen to your own body, relieve tension and edit the symptoms of stress;
3. Chaotic drawings are a fantastic way to overcome internal conflict, anxiety, stupor;
4. Geometric coloring – color and motor repetition provides a lasting effect of rest;
5. Modeling with clay – relieving tension from deep unconscious depths and working out the repressed mental material, that consciousness could not integrate;
6. Contact with a soft toy or creative use of fabrics is a tactile way to keep yourself regressed, so we turn to primary tactile reactions from childhood. As if you are wrapping and hugging yourself;
7. Drawing simple images and repeating them – symbolic, figurative meditation, turning internal tension into an external picture, and it becomes better;
8. Weaving from the threads of scarves, mandalas, balls – the creation of a new structure always helps to balance the internal chaos from stress factors;
9. Collage making – structuring opinions and experiences in a new system that is fantastic in situations of difficult choice and uncertainty;
10. Drawing complex experiences in spontaneous drawings is the best way to protect yourself from excessive emotional arousal and the ability to get rid of negative destructive emotions.

These simple but effective forms of creativity should be taken with you to your own psychological first aid kit when it seems that there is no more strength to fight. Try it and you will definitely get results!
For creativity is a manifestation of the fortitude of every Ukrainian. Yes, it is and it will be!
