Seminar-training for specialists of a helping profile on the topic:

“Psychological methods of using SORU cards in overcoming traumatic events”

Purpose: Conducting an overview monitoring of psychological strategies and forms of work in the process of psychological support of a client in the conditions of experiencing crisis and traumatic life events using COP cards. In the course of the seminar, methods of overcoming the consequences of traumatic stress will be worked out. Certain mechanisms and factors of influence of art therapy in traumatic stress, the system of art therapy support and the basics of using the SORU tool Makart are presented. As part of the seminar, art therapy technologies for initial and rehabilitation support will be presented.

Expected results

  1. Structuring methodological knowledge and ideas about traumatic stress
  2. A review of the methods and forms of work of a psychologist in the system of art therapy support when using SORU cards.
  3. Analysis of problematic situations in the process of art therapy support

Seminar work plan

  • Acquaintance of the participants of the seminar, formation of a request from the participants of the seminar
    • “What to do, if …….”
  • Overview lecture “Methods and approaches to psychological assistance with traumatic stress”
  • DSM-IV criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder
  • The use of metaphorical-associative SORU maps in working with post-traumatic conditions at different stages of psychological support
  • Support system for adaptive skills “I” when using self-drawings and SORU cards
  • Art therapy reduction of avoidance in work with collages and scribbles (avoidance of affect or feelings (numbness); avoidance of memories of a traumatic event (amnesia); behavioral avoidance (phobic reactions); avoidance of judgment that happened), modeling with SORU cards in drawings
  • Correction of the attribution of the meaning of the traumatic situation, cognitive restructuring using the Basic Ph model
  • Sharing, discussion
  • Closing of the seminar, presentation of certificates

Seminar leader

Nazarevich Victoria Vyacheslavovna Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Developmental and Pedagogical Psychology, Rivne State University for the Humanities, trainer of educational trainings for psychologists, psychologist of the highest qualification category, art therapist. Author of more than 80 scientific publications on child psychology and art therapy. Board member of the Western Ukrainian Association of Art Psychologists and Art Therapists. Head of the Rivne branch of the VGO Art Therapeutic Association of Ukraine. Additional education: higher education in the direction of “Sociology of Social Work”, postgraduate studies at the Institute of Defectology of the APS of Ukraine in the direction of “Special Psychology”: specialized training – “Trainer of educational and thematic trainings”, (Kyiv, 1999), training under the training program “Methodology of youth seminars”, “Moderation” (Kyiv, 2000), isotherapy (Moscow 2011), Art therapy (Kyiv 2010), International project of Art psychotherapy within the USP (2011).
