If you are tired, it is not necessary to get sick

 

A huge number of diseases of the modern world are due to tension, which is different in quality and causes, but still unbearable. Quite often we see the paradoxical forms of this tension: from the impossibility of accepting a choice, from the realization of someone else’s tasks, from inevitably tormenting desires, from someone else’s pace of reality, from free or busy time, in general, from everything.

We successfully cope with one tension and can persuade our consciousness to look for methods of balance, but we often fail to agree with another tension, and we trust this process to our body.

And the body is very smart, it has all the power and strength of the primordial nature of survival, and it certainly finds a way for us to relieve this tension through illness, which we often do not like, as we think from the point of view of rational logic. And now for 25 years in clinical psychology I see: any illness is correct, it always saves.

How sad for me to accept this.
But looking at this whole pattern, you can still track down some mechanisms for stabilizing and relieving stress in safer ways than illness.
Here are some of them:

1. Stop, take time out from thoughts, feelings, actions. Often three days are enough for you to hear the quiet voice of desire after the time has passed, and our desires are the pure energy of life, an inexhaustible source of transformation and development.

2. Fall in love, and, in fact, it does not matter what or who. Passionate enthusiasm gives the strength of the fuse and the ability to move forward. It is like a turbine that is turned on for acceleration, so Love overcomes the irresistible. But be prepared for a braking distance, which is inevitable in this case. Physics also works in feelings, and most likely, after falling in love, illness cannot be avoided.

3. Automation – a method, as many will say, is kind of dubious. But believe me, concentration on quiet routine activities, without peaks of activity and long stops, is an excellent way to go through a difficult distance in life. It sounds primitive, but simply doing what you do, smoothly and without strain, provides a lasting result, and changes will not be long in coming. Rhythm and pace matter for survival.

4. Create. Creation is the most beautiful and resourceful method to avoid global fatigue from being, and, as a result, its physical compensation through illness. Creativity is a phenomenon that is not yet amenable to science, which disconnects our consciousness from the existing reality and temporarily creates the one that is absolutely necessary.

The creative process is like a multi-game with yourself at all levels of the psyche. There is more energy potential in the act of creativity than we can imagine in our wildest dreams.

Therefore, why is art therapy for me the method that gives reasons not to get tired of reality and to rest without using bodily compensation for illness? After all, only in art therapy, at our own pace, in love with materials and process, we create, without controlling time, stroke by stroke or stroke by stroke, creating for ourselves the strength to live on, recovering in creativity as in a safe space of our own desire – to be!
