According to Hippocrates: “Life is short, art (science) is long, chance is shaky, experience is deceptive, judgment is difficult.”
So where to look for the golden mean? How to go through life, learning art, catching a case, cutting grains of experience into truth, logistifying judgments?
I think that art regulation will also help us in this – to learn art or science. Watching the world like a child, we get an impulse of interest. By remaining under the influence of this impulse for a long time, we manage to create an experience. Although this experience is scanty and tiny, it helps not to miss the opportunity, which, as a result, forms a judgment.
So what is art therapy? When we are interested in the act of creation as a process, consciousness helps to find a successful combination of color and shape, contrasts, light and shadows. While making your subjective conclusion that this is good – limiting it with the simple truth “I like it” and at the same time enjoying it as the final stage of the judgments of the mind.
It’s great that we have art regulation as a method of contact with life. And of course, a few tricks:
1. Learning science – draw in parts;
2. Doubting the situation – draw many times;
3. Keeping the important – draw the details;
4. When making a choice, draw options.Here is my humble art-therapeutic response to Hippocrates.
