7 reasons to save your child’s drawings

Why you shouldn’t throw away your child’s drawings

1. Your child’s drawings will be the best evidence of his changes and what he was able to achieve, which will help increase the child’s self-esteem.

2. Create a special album or folder in which you can collect special drawings and let the child know that he can throw out ordinary drawings himself, and special ones must be put there. This forms the primary ideas about the value of what “I” do.

3. Drawings of a child as a space for general creativity to which you can return at any time and create a new unique image on an old drawing, symbolically as if “improve yourself with your own hands.”

4. From the old drawings of a child, you can create a book of fairy tales, collecting them all into an amazing story, which will be a great way to form thinking and imagination.

5. Having collected various sketches and dwarfs of the child, you can create an art book where adults can complement the child’s images, making them even more unique. This form of work with drawing will become a joint work of the child and the parent, which will help to solve many pedagogical problems in the process of education. The child learns to accept the “improvements” of himself by his parents.

6. Create a multi-layered collage from the same type of drawings. Cutting out the excess, give a symbolic volume to the image. This can be regarded as building up the picture, the movement of the picture up. Like a builder erecting a new floor. So the child learns creative thinking and masters the ways of non-standard transformations of reality.

7. Save the drawings for the child when he grows up and will have his own children – this will be the best connection of generations, when your grandson or granddaughter will look at the first drawings of his father or mother, he will feel a special connection of generations, and that even the simplest children’s drawings deserve attention in the family space.
