“Son of the Moon (Legend of the Spanish Gypsies)”
An old gypsy woman told under a full moon how Luna fell in love with a gypsy. And before his wedding day she said:
“You will be happy. But I, the moon, am alone. And in return, you yourself will offer a sacrifice – your first son.
Luna, you want to be a mother, but you don’t want to be a woman. Tell me, moon of silver, what will you do with the child of flesh when he becomes the son of the moon?
And from a father the color of cinnamon was born a child white, like the belly of an ermine, with gray eyes instead of little eyes, like olives – a whitish child of the moon. This is not your child! Look at him!
