ISO-therapy technique “GETTING TO KNOW YOURSELF”

bl (604x506, 81Kb)
You will need a large sheet of paper and colored crayons or pastels. Find a quiet place. Choose the first color you will use.
Making wide movements with your whole arm, make circles and lines in the air. After some time, lower your hand to the paper and capture these movements on paper. You can close your eyes at this time in order to give the body a chance to feel this experience.

Try to turn off for this time that part of your brain that could evaluate the quality of the drawing. Allow yourself to be in the experience of this moment.

Now remove your hand with the chalk from the paper. Take a few seconds to look at the drawing and, without making any judgment, and with an open mind, look at the drawing from different perspectives.

Rotate the drawing in all four directions until you can see it from all sides. While looking, notice what visual forms you see in this image and write them down. After completing this task, select one of these images.

Now you are invited to bring this image to life using different colors and lines, adding and intensifying the lines until the image is absolutely clear and you have completed the drawing.

Pay attention to the feelings that you experience in the process of drawing, if any feelings arise, and to any awareness that may arise when working with the image that you have chosen.

In order to stay in this process, try not to analyze your image, but rather explore its relationship with something inside you, perhaps on a symbolic level.

Write down 8-10 words that reflect the experience associated with your image. Make up a sentence for each of these words.
