About intuitive painting

“… When I am working on a picture, it is absolutely necessary for me that I be alone, so that no one bothers me with their presence. Once I start working, I can’t tear myself away or be distracted for a minute. If I am interrupted, there is a break in the flow of lines, shapes, colors. There is a destruction of what has already been created… Lines go somewhere, forms fall apart, and I need others already: those are unique and gone forever.

The composition is changing … you need to create everything from the beginning. I work only in daylight, I never mix paints. An inexhaustible desire to work constantly lives in me. Moreover, I never make any pencil sketches, I don’t have any ideas or a plan for future work in advance. Everything starts as if by itself, everything starts with intuition. Before starting work, I always feel a joyful feeling of anticipation of the upcoming meeting with the unknown beauty; there will be lines, shapes, color. The picture is born as an improvisation. And when I somehow accept all the lines, shapes, colors, rhythms – everything that came out from under the brush, only then I consider that the work is finished …

Picturesque works are connected with musical improvisations. Many argue that music helps them “understand” the pictures. My dream is to introduce everyone to what I do. I dream that we are surrounded by BEAUTY. BEAUTY brings a joyful, exalted mood and directs us to goodness and mercy. And when I see that my work brings joy, I am immensely happy. It inspires and gives strength to work. I love Beauty, I love it when people rejoice when they live peacefully, and I really want there to be unity in Beauty. It seems to me that unity can be found in any noble creativity… I want there to be no wars, so that people live in beautiful cities, walk in beautiful gardens. Beauty affects people, their development, morality, relationships with each other … ”
