When the pain of tragedy is strongest

 

Dear colleagues, one of the most difficult requests that arises now is the need to work with groups that have evacuated from the shelling zone.

I propose a system of psychological exercises that can be implemented for clients at an acute stage, for the emotional stabilization of victims after horrors and ordeals by shelling.

Indicators when a client can work with a psychologist:
1. Emotions are strong but manageable
2. There are no delirium and stupor
3. A person realizes where he is and what is happening to him
4. The person wants to work with a psychologist.

Body therapy block:
1. Imagine all the pain inside and exhale as slowly as possible, and inhale peace and hope
2. We represent the point of the greatest emotion of horror or anger through a ball of threads and through breathing we infuriate
3. Trembling: first with the arms, then with the legs, then with the whole body
4. Tapping on the center of the palm with the index finger, as many times to make it easier. The client himself tests his state

Emotion visualization block:
1. Mentally send fear that feels fear into the ground and let this energy transform into strength for warriors and be directed to victory
2. Aggression that you feel, direct into the image of strength and send to soldiers to defeat the enemy
3. Transform the pain you feel into protection for your family
4. Represent the power of God’s justice and wrap our country in the form of prayers or other images

Art therapy block “helping hand” or helping hand:
1. We suggest that you circle your hands on a piece of paper and write inside your strengths that gave you the strength to get out and survive.
2. We circle one hand, and next to the other, we get something similar to the wings of an Angel, we finish drawing the protection of the angel above ourselves and above Ukraine
3. We circle the hands first one and then the other from above, we get something similar to a lattice, we create a conditional protective lattice for the enemy
4. We circle the hand and draw the image of the bird of Peace or the bird of Victory, as a symbol of Grace over the country.

We choose one exercise option from the block, for one lesson no more than three exercises: one bodily, one for visualization, one art therapy.

After each type or exercise, we analyze the state of the client, his feelings and emotions, it became easier for him or vice versa. We will discuss what to do in non-standard situations in our daily groups.

Of course, this is only one of the client management protocols, but it allows you to reflect and produce, maintaining images in a situation of acute state, to regulate emotions, without a complex cognitive load.
