Around the world, many people celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14th. Lovers on this day traditionally spend time together and express their love for each other in all sorts of ways. And although not many young people get married in winter, however, many couples dream of marriage on this symbolic day.
This year, only one couple applied to the Rivne City DRACS with such an offer, and then only by telephone, because the current day of all lovers fell on weekdays.
Galina Davidyuk, head of the Rivne city department of the DRACS:
– Somehow it happened on Friday February 14 in previous years, it was some kind of more or less registration. We had many couples. Lots of lovers. It also encouraged them that they were getting married on February 14, but this year there was none.
An incredible number of women’s novels and TV shows are devoted to unhappy love. Many complain about unrequited feelings. However, according to the candidate of psychological sciences Victoria Nazarevich, there is no unhappy love, there are only unhappy people who in childhood did not receive the necessary attention from their parents. Everyone else takes the situation as it is. When, as the people say, “not destined”, then for each person even such a life situation is an invaluable experience. And it is possible to help such a person and restore his mental balance in a few months.

– As a rule, a person quickly adapts after a divorce from a loved one. After three or four months, these breakdowns pass. If we talk about love in a psychological context, then you need to clearly understand where there is love and where there is emotional dependence.
As for the position of the Orthodox Church, Saint Valentines, and by the way, there were three of them in Orthodoxy, are remembered not in February, but in spring and summer. The origin of the winter St. Valentine is more addressed to the Catholic Church. However, only love as a kind of love can unite all confessions.
Father Vitaly, head of the charitable mission “Orthodox Cause”:
– Love is eternal. If people love each other, if they are married, then they should devote themselves to each other. If a person learns to live for another and make efforts for this, then with the help of God, love will be eternal.
The holiday of pure and bright love, unfortunately, is becoming more and more commercial. People, forgetting about the sincerity of the Stsoons, arrange their own show on this day, giving each other valentines and flowers. Church ministers emphasize that true love does not need to be flaunted, especially on this day. Love is above all tolerance for each other. Which is what all lovers wish.
