Organization of the working space of the psychologist’s office

Option 1
The psychologist’s office is the center for organizing and conducting scientific research in the field of psychology. The multifunctionality of the office is ensured by four functional zones:
1 zone (information): the front wall of the cabinet and the space in front of it (board, movie screen, sound speakers, pulpit, lighting spotlights);
Zone 2 (working): the main part of the room, located between the information zone and the exhibition zone (12 easy chairs, 12 single work tables, lighting spotlights, blackout curtains);
Zone 3 (exhibition): the back wall of the working part of the office and the space in front of it, where students’ creative works are located;
4th zone (hardware): a fenced-off part of the cabinet (a mixing console, with the help of which voice is overdubbed to music; three tape recorders; a lighting control panel for smooth adjustment of light and color dynamics; a set of audiovisual equipment; a bank of audiovisual programs; a library).

Option 2
The nature zone is located near the side wall, which is occupied by photo wallpapers depicting nature. Along the wall are pots with indoor plants, dry flower arrangements, an aquarium.
The exhibition area occupies a space between two windows. On the originally made racks there are drawings, crafts and creative works of students of the gymnasium. The composition is constantly updated. Anyone can bring their work and place it on the stand.
The play area, which is located in one of the corners of the room, is formed by a closet with toys and a carpet. The most diverse toys are collected: soft, technical, board-printed games, constructors, mosaics, cubes, pencils.
The information zone consists of two large cabinets. One contains a rich library of literature on psychology and pedagogy, methodological materials. The second cabinet is filled with visual aids necessary for conducting psycho-gymnastics lessons in elementary school.
The relaxation zone aims to provide conditions for psycho-emotional unloading. It has a soft corner, a table with a samovar and a set of tea utensils, a clock, a picture and a lamp on the wall. The zone is located in the second farthest corner from the window and is separated from the rest of the room by the arrangement of furniture.
The zone of individual work is intended for conducting classes with students. It contains a small table, a wall mirror hung with a curtain, two chairs, a table
when working with mimic expression of emotional states, as an element of individually oriented psychotherapy.
The group work area occupies the center of the room. It has a round table with chairs for classes, trainings and psychology lessons. There is a space free from furniture, which is used for psychological games, warm-ups and minutes of outdoor activities.

Option 3
Office workspace organization

The office space should be organized in accordance with the specifics of the professional activity of a psychologist. Based on this, it is recommended to divide the office into several work areas with different functional loads. The following zones can be distinguished:

• zone of primary reception and conversation with the client
• zone of advisory work
• zone of diagnostic work
• zone of correctional and developmental work
• play therapy zone
•a zone of relaxation and removal of emotional stress
•personal (working) zone of a psychologist
• reception waiting area
