(Technique “Color diary”)
I think that you also have to meet people in faded Souls, from longing, vanity, fatigue or disappointment, household chores. And every day they walk around this colorful rainbow World without noticing its beauties, shades and halftones, and how sometimes you want to come up and say … but the World is beautiful, albeit not perfect!
And then one day, looking at the sky, I simply did not believe that this happens … a heavenly print of amazing beauty, birch-lilac cut through the whole sky, as if someone was painting with watercolors on a heavenly canvas. And then I thought how important it is to see the color of life – just to rejoice that there is an opportunity – to see, remember, tell and draw …
This is how such a form of work in art therapy as the “Color Diary” appeared.
I use this form of work in the system of creativity therapy to regulate such processes as: correction of emotional states, emotional burnout, when accompanied by depressed clients. And as a form to return to your life after psychotraumatic situations.
The client is invited to get a notebook or an album in which to record the most amazing and memorable combination of two or more colors per day. Moreover, these colors can be collected anywhere from the stripes on a yard cat to the colors of a news anchor’s tie. In the evening, in a calm atmosphere, sketch the colors you like, trying to convey their combinations as accurately or simply as you want. When drawing, try to relax and enjoy the fact that you have transferred these colors to a sheet of paper.
If you want to conduct research yourself, and not just enjoy the process, you can fix the following features:
1. Where did you see the color. So you can trace the resource places.
2. When during the day I notice color more often.
3. Track the days when the colors repeat, track it by events, which will make it possible to mark your reactions in color.
4. What emotions did the colors evoke.
5. How the mood has changed.
6. Fix time and thoughts about color and its combinations.
The resulting color book can be used as a basis for other forms of work in art therapy with their own processes and states.
