If your child reacts to explosions by crying, try these suggestions:
1. Teach your child to use headphones or ear plugs. Fear is a natural defensive response to an alarm that needs to be minimized: a strong hat and cotton wool up to the ears will reduce the sound power. If possible, close the ears of the babies with your own hands. This is what our grandmothers did during the war.
2. It is important to tie a child around you or hold it tightly to you. Grab a soft blanket and wrap yourself up with your baby. The kid should not feel that he is himself, so he automatically regresses.
3. Try to control your condition. The child feels your condition very strongly and reacts to your reaction. So, in a difficult situation, start vibrating with your voice to any sound A, O, B: the longest exhalation with the sound on one breath. This simple exercise will provide gray noise that will automatically soothe the baby.
4. Sing lullabies not to your baby but to yourself to slow down your heartbeat. So the child will feel that you are calm and will stabilize himself.
5. Let’s drink some water as soon as the babies start crying, smear her lips with some kind of taste (honey, jam, etc.). So the child dissipates attention and changes the state.
6. Do some patterning, repetitive movements or start waving your arm or head vigorously. This will attract the child to the external and distract from his own anxiety.
7. Important! Children under 2.8 years of age should be stabilized by adults, their brain has not yet formed a self-regulation system. Hysteria in babies can lead to negative consequences in the body or a temporary increase in body temperature.
8. During rest, make salty baths for arms and legs with your child. Just play – it reduces stress levels for both mom and baby. Sea salt helps reduce stress and anxiety levels.
9. In a stressful period, the body of each person requires a large amount of magnesium. Include this element in your daily diet as a dietary supplement or eat more nuts, bananas, legumes, broccoli, etc.
10. If you feel that you are not able to calm the child on your own, due to your own condition, it is better to transfer it to a person who is now emotionally more stable.
11. During protracted explosions, react with your body: clapping your hands, imitating stomping. You understand the threat level, but the child hears loud noises and that’s it. Do not scare the child once again.
12. When it is difficult for a child to calm down, put your hand on his back (heart area) and just hold. This method of bodily therapy is recommended not only for children, but also for adults. So we seem to hold our heart, give it a sense of support.
