Throughout the history of art, wall paintings have been used to reflect great moments and events. In art therapy, we use the creation of murals to help people work together and realize their role in this work. The work is usually built around topics that arise in the group. For example, topics might be: our families, life in the hospital, dreams, fantasies of a perfect life, and so on. You will need a long enough roll of paper, paint, and other drawing material. Lay the paper out on the floor or stick it to the wall. Let the group (3-8 people) decide on the topic. Work in silence to build an image around the topic. After completing the work, give each group member the opportunity to comment on the process of making the drawing. Who were the leaders? How was the paper space divided? What helped the work to happen freely? Who felt the pressure and why? Does the generated image display the selected theme? How does the finished drawing make you feel? These questions usually lead to active discussion of the group process, which is an integrating component of the therapeutic process.

Sally Brooker
Art therapy is the common language of healing.

[1000,1657

post-25993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-art-therapy","category-psychological-drawing
["GET
