First, acrylic dries quickly. Secondly, it can be both oil and watercolor. Those. if you paint with thick paint from a tube, after drying, the picture will have quite an “oily” look. And if you dilute it with water, then you can paint with it, like watercolor – it only dries many times faster. When working with acrylic, no thinners are needed. Many manufacturers, however, offer all sorts of “retarding” liquids so that the acrylic dries more slowly, but I have never needed them yet. In order to clean the brushes at the end of the work, no solvents are needed: just wash them under the tap.

IN

Acrylic does not make dirt in drawings. In T.e. a new layer of paint does not mix with previous strokes if they are already dry. When working with gouache, all previous layers come to life under a wet brush. And dried acrylic no longer reacts with water. On the same dry acrylic surface, she draws everything from ink to gel pens, pastels, etc. It also does not repel glue, i.e. You can put collages on it.

IN

IN

If you want the acrylic to not dry on the palette at the speed of light, make yourself a special palette. For this, we take an ordinary plastic jar for products with a dense, better rubber lid. We put a wet napkin on the bottom, thin paper for baking or sandwiches on it, and squeeze our acrylic on it. At the end of the work, you can simply close the lid tightly, and the paint will not dry until the next session. Small jars of caviar with screw-on lids are also an option. We squeeze out the right amount of paint there, and then just twist it and use it next time. Once I had acrylic like this for several days. It lasted and did not dry out.

IN

IN

Many people complain that acrylic darkens after drying. This happens, as a rule, with poor quality acrylic. In the market for acrylic manufacturers , Royal Talens B with Van Gogh B acrylic paints and Schmincke B (the latter offers the largest selection of shades) are leading. Their products are quite expensive, so they offer it in several forms: for hobby, educational and professional. If you are interested in that your works do not lose their brightness and freshness even after drying, buy an improved variant – acrylic for artists. It contains more color pigments. Hobby paints (the lowest quality and price) and training paints are diluted with a variety of fillers that increase the mass of the acrylic “paste”: chalk, barite, quartz flour and others. Overzealous fillers in acrylic just leads to the fact that in the end the work fades.

IN

For creativity in artbooks, the “student” quality of acrylic is enough. Just keep in mind that if you are going to paint with hobby acrylic on canvas, cracks may form after drying, and the color intensity will be poor. I work mainly with acrylics from Schmincke and equally good quality Lascaux and Liquitex.

IN

IN

When buying materials, many do not pay attention to the specification of the product and scold this or that manufacturer for the quality, that their acrylic does not lay down in a dense layer, but requires additional “passes” with a brush. Here you need to know that acrylic is distinguished by the intensity of color and the degree of transparency.

IN

The intensity of pigments is marked by manufacturers directly on the packaging or tubes of paint with a wide variety of symbols: stars, crosses, circles – the larger their number, the brighter the acrylic will be.

IN

Next to these symbols is located and B the transparency symbol B – as a rule, a small square. Completely black signals the high density of acrylic; half-filled – about translucency; empty indicates that acrylic is intended for azure. Some manufacturers have letter abbreviations to indicate transparency: DD, dd or 00 – for opaque acrylic; D, d, or 0 for translucent; L, l or T – for transparent or intended for azure; LL, ll or TT – especially transparent.

IN

The photo just shows on the tube and the stars and the nearby black square.

IN

IN

—————————————–

source …

—————————————–

IN

Additional material:

IN

Acrylic selection. colors.

see here

Mixing colors. 2.

see here

Acrylic selection. colors.

see here

IN

———————————————

IN

Community “Decor_Rospis”

<img decoding="async" style="width: 130px;
