The training course “Methods and forms of accompanying the client in the art-therapeutic process” is based on creativity therapy. The course is based on overcoming psychological problems in the method of art therapy with clients of different ages and is implemented both in the work of a practical psychologist and specialists in other helping professions. The structure of the course makes it possible to form basic theoretical knowledge about the features of using the method, theoretical and methodological approaches in the system of healing and restoration of the creative process, master the full set of techniques and methods of working with art therapy tools, trace the nature of the client’s dynamics through the symbolism and structure of the art products of the therapeutic process.<\/p>\n
The course will consider the features of the work of art accompaniment of clients of different age categories and a variety of psychological requests. Each module of the project will reveal the rules for using certain forms and methods of creativity for diagnostics and their subsequent use in the emotional, behavioral and motivational areas of the client at different stages of psychological support.<\/p>\n
Course Objectives: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n- To acquaint specialists with the art-therapeutic direction in art psychology.<\/li>\n
- To highlight the main issues of art therapy and the specifics of the direction.<\/li>\n
- Master the peculiarities of individual work with the basic methods and forms of art therapy.<\/li>\n
- To form cases of various art therapy technologies and exercises for working with clients.<\/li>\n
- To form the concepts and skills of conducting individual and group art therapy sessions.<\/li>\n
- Work out the proposed art techniques in the training group.<\/li>\n
- To learn how to use drawing techniques in solving various kinds of problems.<\/li>\n
- Get a deeper understanding of yourself through the analysis of the symbols and structures of the art product.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Course structure:<\/strong> 9 modules of 2 days. One module is held every three months.<\/p>\nThematic plan of the course:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- The concept of art therapy. Theoretical models of art therapy, the historical perspective of the method. Types of individual and group work in art therapy. Support technologies for group art therapy processes.<\/li>\n
- Forms of work, methods and approaches of an art therapist with the image of “I”. Self-portraits and metaphors accompanied by art. Techniques of self-presentation of the client in the art process.<\/li>\n
- Color psychology. Color therapy. Processes and objects in art therapy meanings in the work of an art therapist. Interaction in art therapy.<\/li>\n
- Creation of art books, keeping art diaries as a form of acquaintance, collection of information, control of dynamics, introspection of the client. System of work with art-books.<\/li>\n
- Approaches and features of projective diagnostics, individualization of the process of rules and methods of interpreting symbols and signs in art therapy<\/li>\n
- Projective methods and forms of their use in art therapy. Features of the use of projective techniques at different stages of ontogenesis.<\/li>\n
- Diagnostics of clients with the help of spontaneous drawings. Analysis of symbols, forms and systems of interpretations in the study of the information received. Drawing and drawing techniques and technologies in the client’s art support system.<\/li>\n
- A variety of methods and forms of drawing technologies in art therapy: the use of abstract monotypes, encaustic drawing (hot wax) in the work of a psychologist.<\/li>\n
- Mandalotherapy, forms of work with picturesque, bulk mandalas. Principles of creation and destruction of mandalas in the process of accompanying the client. Interpretation of mandalas.<\/li>\n
- Features and types of masks in art therapy. Mask therapy – the creation of personal masks and masks for the correction of negative psycho-emotional states.<\/li>\n
- The use of associative-metaphorical cards in the art accompaniment of the client. Acquaintance and use of OH-cards, COPE cards, Morena, etc. in the client’s art support system.<\/li>\n
- Bibliotherapy – the use of texts, poems, aphorisms, proverbs to work with the negative program of the client, the creation of resources and for the purpose of diagnosis.<\/li>\n
- Fairy tale therapy in work with children and adults, creation of psychotherapeutic fairy tales. Principles of creating fairy tale algorithms for different problems.<\/li>\n
- Game therapy and puppet therapy with art support of the client. Sand work. Drawing on the sand, sand-play – principles, rules of work.<\/li>\n
- Methods and technologies for the use of plastic materials and textiles in the work of an art therapist. Clay therapy, forms and methods of work.<\/li>\n
- Collaging as a method of personal reconstruction in the process of art accompaniment. Creation of landscapes and installations as a form of reality modeling in art therapy processes.<\/li>\n
- Music therapy and drama therapy in the system of client support. Body-oriented art therapy. Relaxation through drawing and music, movement and rhythm, form and body.<\/li>\n

Victoria Nazarevich<\/strong> Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Developmental and Pedagogical Psychology, Rivne State University for the Humanities, art therapist, trainer of educational trainings, psychologist of the highest qualification category, member of the board of the Western Ukrainian Association of Art Psychologists and Art Therapists. Author of more than 80 scientific and methodological publications on psychology and methodological tools for the work of a psychologist.
