A mask as a certain face, as a system of personal visual identification, gives us the opportunity to see personal changes directly, through a visual projection. So, in the work of an art psychologist, there is a need to creatively and non-standardly show the client his personal self, in one form or another of a request.
For example:
• I am confident
• I am weird,
• I am conflict,
• I am kind,
• I am different,
• I – depending on how the client designates himself in the system of personal inquiry in work.
So the mask gives us the opportunity to see the image, the emotional cast, the archetypal overlay in the behavior that the client designates in the description. But at the same time, very often we lack contact with some invisible, unconscious part. And it is precisely abstract images that provide us with this contact, which we can get very gently, unobtrusively, according to the client’s own choice, to present as part of the mask.
To do this, you can use any metaphorical cards. We use Meta-Art cards in our work.
They have a lot of variability of abstract images, while they are different in structure and make it possible to find exactly the abstract products that the client needs.
Let’s take a look at the methodology of the approach itself. The mask can be drawn in the form of a portrait image, it can be represented on a mirror image or on a transparent surface. After that, we offer the client to supplement this image with the help of metaphorical abstract images, explaining to himself how they help, hinder, complement, change, modernize the image that was originally conceived by the author.
This process brings clients into the zone of deep discussion, into the zone of a discussion review of themselves as a rather interesting object of study. Which, as a rule, helps us unobtrusively direct the client into the zone of his personal awareness and makes it possible to understand and reveal the request with which the client comes.
A few photos confirming the experience of using this art therapy practice with masks and abstract images.
Victoria Nazarevich, 2019 ©

[1658
1684,1740,1653,1652,1677,1687
post-25294","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-psychologist-s-advice","tag-art-therapy-en","tag-beauty","tag-creation","tag-nazarevich-victoria","tag-psychologists-advice","tag-what-is-art-en
["GET
