Therefore, now we are seeing emotional reactions: from “I want nothing and I can not” to “I kill everyone.” And this, perhaps, is quite normal for what has been happening to every Ukrainian for more than a year.

How to endure and how to survive this variable reality? – we considered this question at the last supervision, which for some reason turned into a philosophical discourse and prompted reflection on emotions and their living in this lava crisis.

Looking through the plots in nature and drawing analogies, we can find the necessary parallels.
I want to collect the best ones based on a similar natural phenomenon – the ascent of the lava of a volcano, which is quite unpredictable and tragic for the space in which it takes place.
What we are experiencing is very similar to this natural phenomenon.

So, let’s try to draw parallels:

1. Effusive emotions (outflow) – emotions come out, with strong internal or external affects, emotional flows are formed that can last up to 3 days. The streams of the hot bench of our emotions demolish everything, destroying the inner landscape of meanings and meanings, intentions are irrevocably changed. And hence the advice: if there are such strong emotions, perhaps you should run away from them into good thoughts, bodily exercises, conscious perception of reality. Try to muster up the courage to make a decision to run away from these lava emotions or change the last bits of conditional stability.
2. Linear cracks in the emotional sphere – an interesting form when emotions come out through a certain content crack and form new layers around. So we are in crisis through the channel with which we react to events, we change the basic form of our life, and this can be different: someone fills everything with emotions in one topic, to which he allows himself to react, for example, sad songs, someone – activity, someone – destruction, who simply makes a replacement and forms a new way of life. Therefore, perhaps, we should track where our emotional linear crack is and what comes out from there. Perhaps this is not bad at all, but it is worth understanding and trying to regulate.
3. Eruptive emotions (from eruptivus – thrown out) – this is when all the processes associated with the activity of the volcano, the products of the eruption accumulate around the crater, forming a cone of the volcano. Yes, some people keep all their experiences and problems inside themselves, and they catastrophically change, creating one sore point, which can become an irreparable beginning of changes in the entire psyche or body. And here, of course, it is joyful that we are not a volcano, and all the products of our experiences can be reflected and objectified in safe forms in our case of creativity.

Why were all these analogies with a volcano? This is a very powerful and understandable image of our experiences, which can be used in the work of a psychologist, namely, the metaphorical processing of the emotions of war.
Let’s try to use art therapy for this:

1. draw a volcano of pain or emotion;
2. dance a state like it’s a volcanic eruption;
3. Loudly imitate flashes of a volcano when emotions are very strong;
4. Sculpt your volcano out of clay.
Of course, it is better to turn to yourself and ask yourself the question: “If emotions were a volcano, what would it be?”.

This will be the first effective method in the regulation and self-reflection of emotions and states, and this is already half the battle!

Volcanoes and emotions part 1

@Victoria Nazarevich 2023

[1000
1650,1651
post-25148","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-art-therapy","tag-art-therapist-en","tag-art-therapy-school-en
["GET
